Zombies Are Coming!

The Zombies Course from Clockworks Academy is coming soon! Starting in June I’m offering an eight-week course on zombies in fiction, focusing on film, graphic novels, and prose.

Don’t let the zombies in. I know it’s tempting.

Don’t let the zombies in. I know it’s tempting.

This course will look at the pre-history of the modern zombie, zombies as metaphors for infection, prejudice, consumerism, the meaning of the zombie apocalypse, and much more!

Join me, Dr. Paul Moffett as I guide you through some of the zombie stories of the 20th and 21st centuries!

I am very excited to welcome Dr. Lauren Chochinov to teach a new course at Clockworks Academy!

Frankenstein and Werewolves Begin Again in March

I’ve announced here that the new Robin Hood Course is beginning on March 16th. I’m very excited about it, and I hope you’ll sign up.

What I don’t think I have mentioned is that both the Frankenstein Course and the Medieval Werewolves Course will also begin again in mid-March. I’ll confirm the exact date soon, but expect them the both to begin the week of the 16th.

Frankenstein is one of my most popular courses, and I’m looking forward to teaching it again! And the Werewolves Course is full of surprises and I think it’s enormously fascinating.

I hope to see you in one of these three courses!

Welcome Dr. Mikayla Hunter

I'm very pleased to welcome Dr. Mikayla Hunter to teach a new course at Clockworks Academy!

Dr. Hunter completed her doctorate in medieval literature at the University of Oxford. She earned her M.A. in medieval studies at the University of Bristol and her B.A. in English literature at Whitman College. She is SEDA-accredited as an instructor of higher education. Her doctoral research focused on outlaw ballads and Middle English romance literature, and she has published academic work in the fields of both medieval literature and modern medievalism, including a chapter in the recently-published Queenship and the Women of Westeros.

Dr. Hunter will be teaching a new course on Robin Hood, beginning March 16, 2020, and you can sign up now. I can't wait to see what Dr. Hunter brings to this course!

Happy Holidays from Clockworks Academy!

Classes here at Clockworks Academy will be on break until the New Year, when I hope to re-launch several of my previous courses, and add one or two new ones! I’m working on developing the Zombies course now, so look for that soon!

If you don’t care when things start, the courses are all still available to buy, and I’ll give you a few weeks’ warning before things get going, so you can still buy a course and save your spot any time you like!

Until January, I wish you all the happiest of holidays! May this year end well for you, and the new one start full of promise and possibility!

Paul
