Few figures, historical, legendary, or fictional have captured the imagination as profoundly or as lastingly as Robin Hood. Outlaw, trickster, hero, Robin Hood is a character full of contradiction, complexity, and charm. In this course you’ll learn about the origin of Robin Hood stories, interrogate the myth and the history, and learn why centuries later we keep listening to stories about Robin Hood.
Included in this course:
Eight weekly hour-long (or thereabouts) researched and insightful lectures on the texts from Dr. Mikayla Hunter, Oxford PhD specializing in medieval outlaw ballads.
Visual aids, in the form of slides or videos to accompany each lecture
Access to a discord discussion board where you can talk to Dr. Hunter and to your fellow students about the text, the lectures, or whatever you want to!
Access to at least two live seminars where Dr. Hunter will respond to directly to your questions and insights about the texts.
