Paul's A Fine Romance course was everything I hoped it would be. As someone who did not study literature in college, I always struggled with Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte D'Arthur even though I love Arthurian Legend. The lectures were informative and entertaining, and each week I came away with something new from the text I tried so many times to conquer. I cannot recommend this class enough!

Most people would be generally familiar with the Round Table but perhaps not its origins or all its characters. Dr. Lauren Chochinov presents a 600-year old magical tale in the form of a poem about Sir Gawain and explores its language, metrical schemes and context from all aspects. A very interesting and rewarding course!

This was the perfect summer learning experience!

Whew, where to start? I learned so many intricate and incredible facets about the function, fears, and fascination that we have with American zombies. We traced their inspirations, modern inception in Romero's films, and interpreted their criticisms on human society, capitalism, and so much more. As a creative writer I have loved every moment of watching films, reading books, and digging into graphic novels. As an academic the care and depth of our seminars, incorporation of audio visuals, and conversations throughout the week have been incredible, striking a perfect balance between accessible and graduate level academic quality…

I'm not generally into zombie stories, but Dr. Moffett lured me in with the promise of Haitian zombies and The Girl With All The Gifts. I'm so glad I took the Zombie course, because, as always, I learned a lot, and had great conversations about the movies and texts we covered. Highly recommend.

I kept thinking, "This feels decadent." I feel like I underpaid. You read poetry and played music. Such great context and history about the author. I listen to a lot of online college courses and this is really a cut above.
