Halfway Expert
I’m Dr. Paul Moffett, and I’m an expert
When I finished by PhD in medieval literature I had a feeling that I now had the research skills to become an expert in any topic. That feeling passed, but now I spend every episode of Halfway Expert trying my best to fake it.
For every episode I research a topic for a week to become a halfway expert, then try to explain that topic to a real expert, who corrects the misconceptions and misunderstandings I’ve picked up in my week of study.
On this episode of Halfway Expert I talk to sustainability scientist Kim Nicholas. We talk about what sustainability science is, solution-oriented scholarship, wine, how to fix the world, and more!
